Career

Neal Ewers embodies the transition from elite athlete to wrestling community leader. A former Canadian national team wrestler, he reached eighth place at the 2002 Senior World Championships. A Simon Fraser University graduate where he continued his wrestling career, Ewers channels his athletic expertise into youth development.

After ten years as executive director of Beat the Streets Toronto, Ewers transformed the organisation, bringing wrestling to more than 28,000 children and youth across the Greater Toronto Area. Vision and passion characterise his work: making wrestling a tool of equitable access and youth development. A co-owner of Battle Arts Academy in Mississauga, Ewers teaches several wrestling classes weekly and hosts local events.

Across Canada and North America, Ewers remains a “guide coach” mentoring champions and spreading a message of resilience. His legacy reflects a contribution to communities, turning senior athletes into mentors for youth development.
